Biography
Dr NG Tsz Yan (TY) obtained her PhD in Biology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a research focus on marine ecology and biodiversity, coral biology and the effect of climate change on them. TY was trained to be a marine biologist but she is interested in all sorts of wildlife, participating in various citizen science programmes surveying different kinds of local biodiversity. She is also fond of spreading the message of conservation through education, teaching part-time at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University on environment-related subjects as well as courses related to biodiversity and conservation in other education centres. TY was appointed by the Hong Kong Government as a youth member at the Environmental Campaign Committee, advising the government on publicity and educational programmes related to the environment with a view to contributing to the government’s formulation of relevant policy initiatives and measures. She is also a member of the Museum Advisory Committee and Science Sub-committee. |
